How the category AI leaderboard works

  1. 1

Enter a category question. Something your buyers ask, like “best note taking app” or “best CRM for startups”.

  2. 2

We ask 5 AI engines and rank the brands. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and DeepSeek, tallied by how many engines name each brand.

  3. 3

See the leaderboard and your rank. The brands AI recommends most, in order, plus exactly where you land and who is ahead of you.

Why the AI leaderboard matters

When buyers ask AI to recommend a product, the models name a short list, and most people never look past it. This free tool shows that list for your category across five engines, so you can see whether you are on it, who outranks you, and how far you have to climb. Use it to find the category questions where a competitor is named and you are not, then close that gap one answer at a time.

Category AI leaderboard - FAQ

What is a category AI leaderboard?

It asks a category question - like "best CRM software" - to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and DeepSeek, then extracts the brands each engine names and ranks them by how many engines mention each one. That ranking is the AI "share of voice" for the category.

Why does this matter for my brand?

When buyers ask AI for the best options in a category, the brands AI names become the shortlist. If you are not on it, you are invisible at the exact moment of consideration. The leaderboard shows who owns that shortlist and whether you are on it.

How do you decide the ranking?

We extract the named brands from each engine answer and rank by how many of the five engines named each brand. A brand named by all five ranks above one named by two - broad agreement across engines signals stronger AI mindshare.

Is it free?

Yes, no signup. Enter a category query (and optionally your brand to see your rank) and get a shareable leaderboard across 5 live AI engines.

How do I get my brand onto the AI shortlist?

Earn citations and reviews on the sources these engines trust for the category, publish a focused, well-structured page that answers the category question, and strengthen your entity signals. Re-run the leaderboard to track your climb.
